Happy Mother’s Day!!

I sit here and begin this week’s blog. Of course I am late as usual. But what is late? I guess it is simply perception. Anyway, this is Derby weekend and for Louisville, KY that is a big event. Considering I am not from the area historically, I guess it does not inspire me as much as it does the locals. That is fine and many folks are having a GREAT time. On the other hand, this is MOTHERS DAY week end. Now this I understand. I am the mother of 4, with 21 grandchildren. I have 3 daughters in law and 1 son in law. This is my heritage. Children are a blessing from the Lord!
Although I do not see my children as much as I like, I pray for them each morning. I am a firm believer that FAMILY is soooo important and in the end, this is what is going to hold us together. Systems fail and friends fail, but family should be held sacred! I send angels to surround my children and grandchildren with each day’s beginning. I want them to know the same Creator and Healer as I do.!
As my journey continues, I pray that God touch each of my children and their families. May He draw them close to His bosom as a mother hen places her wings around her chicks and pulls them close. My desire is for my children to be happy with themselves and to know happiness with their families.
This blogs seems different than some previous ones, but the season seems to have brought it out. It has rained so much this past weeks that my lawn grew fast with no time except between showers to try to cut it. I found a day after work and began this venture. When I was pushing the mower I thought to myself, with ALL my grandchildren, why do I not have anyone who will offer to do this? With sweat coming down my face, and the aches in my joints a small voice spoke to me, “thank your God that you have the strength to push the mower!” Wow, I had to take a brief step back and tell God thank you for allowing me the privilege of being able to do what I was doing. He gave me my health and that is precious. Mowing the grass was just an expression of what He has done. Thank you God!
I have so much to be thankful for. As I walk this journey I discover that it isn’t where you came from; it’s where you are going that counts. YOU ARE MORE THAN WHERE YOU CAME FROM!
Till the next episode of this journey!
Evelyn
