Discouragement comes in many forms
Posted By jessi on May 23, 2011
We get up in the morning and it is raining outside. We place our feet on the floor and ‘ouch it is cold’. As I enter the unit and there is such busyness about me and I hear, “it has been a crazy night”. I hear a patient call out, “I want something for my pain.” Another nurse says, “I don’t want to be here”. A physician comes down the hall grumbling. The staffing is short and we have one less nurse. I don’t have time for lunch and barely time for a ‘potty’ break. The day comes to an end but it is 2 hours past quitting time. WOW, I am late for my appointment and what about dinner. Oops, look at that grass, it is so high….too much rain and no time to mow. The car has finger prints on it because it did not know where the car wash was. Oh and now it is time to put my head on a pillow because tomorrow is another day!
Any one of us could write a scenario as above and when you add siblings, children or a spouse it can get really complicated.
Sometimes we must just STOP … and remember WHO has brought us this far. We must take a rest and let Him handle our day. We must remember that:
He is the wind beneath our wings
As my week began, I ask the Lord to give me strength to continue my walk. I want everyone to be on the same page with me. Just cannot understand why they are not!
Then I get an email from a person whom I sent the Proformance to. Her husband has cancer. He was taking the product for the past 3 weeks and says he has more energy than he ever has had. This makes all my discouraging moments worthwhile. To help someone improve the quality of life is what my mission is all about. We only have the moments that God gives us and He never promised us tomorrow only today. This is sorta what I told my peers at work. Today was supposed to be the ‘beginning of the end of the world’ per someone who does not know the Scripture. My response was that we should live every day as though it were our last but continue to walk as though it will never end. We should love as we have never loved before, give as we have never given before and share as we have never shared before. I do not know how long God will give me, but He did say He would walk with me through each day.
The next few weeks will be very busy with connecting with Trena in Louisiana. Then the team that is going to Dominican Rep. with the Viva Kids…I wish I were going along, but my time is coming. It is awesome that God has given Rick Cotton the vision for Viva Kids and how he is using eXfuze to give financial support. This is another reason to continue moving forward because a percentage of EVERY bottle of product is funded to the Viva Kids foundation. Terry and Loretta I will be thinking about all of you who are on that trip. Do what you do best; give of yourself to those who have great need. Just make sure that you bring some of that joy home with you to share with those of us who remained here
I have said many times and will say it again, success is not what you find at the end of the journey, success is the journey. Take one step at a time and enjoy each moment.
Till next time. Evelyn
